Garden Update

It has been a little over 6 weeks since I planted my garden and I thought that it might be time for an update. First off, I had to put a fence around each garden so the dogs would stop running through them and stomping on the plants. Also, I added a lattice for the viney plants to grow up on. I am numbering the squares to make the description easier to understand.

Box #1
This is the before picture. Starting at the top going clockwise-1. jalapeño plant, 2. nothing, 3. nothing, 4. about 40 onions and a tomato plant.
Now-starting at the top rightish - 1. jalapeño plant, 2. peas, carrots , green beans (this angle you can only see the green beans), 3. bell pepper , zucchini (the little one at the bottom), 4. onions and tomato plant
Here is another angle of the peas, green beans and carrots. Don't know why the picture loaded sideways-sorry. Big ones are the green beans, the grassy looking stuff is the carrots and the other things are peas.
Box #2
This is the first picture right after I planted. Starting at the top right going clockwise-1. watermelon, 2. nothing, 3. strawberry, 4. nothing

Now-starting at the top: 1. watermelon, 2. two little watermelons going up the lattice and two peanut plants, 3. strawberry, 4. three strawberries and one avocado
Box #3

Starting at the bottom going to the top-1. four cucumbers, spearmint, 2. two cucumbers, nine onions, two tomatoes, 3. four tomatoes, 4. two yellow squash, nine onions, bell pepper
Now: 1. four cucumbers, onion, spearmint, 2. two cucumber, nine onions, two tomatoes, 3. four tomatoes, 4. two squash, nine onions, bell pepper
The cucumber leaves are a little wilted because it is so hot but when the sun starts going down, they perk up again. They also might need a little more water.
Here is a back view of the cucumbers and tomatoes.

This is a picture of the squash, onions, and bell pepper since you could not really see them in the other picture. Do you see the little bell pepper?
In the last week and a half to two weeks, the plants have really exploded! I can't wait to get some veggies. This is really easy gardening-anyone can do it! So can you!!!! Try it out!

Summer time and the livin's easy

I had Andrew for the weekend and thought that the boys would enjoy a dip in the pool. Karin came over to help me out (but I really think it was to just play with her nephews). Torin lasted in the pool for maybe a minute and then went to take a nap. But Karin and Andrew played for a while whilst I worked on my garden. The next day Torin and I went into the pool and we enjoyed ourselves very much. It was just us so no pictures! Oh well!!

Mo-hawk

Torin has a natural mo-hawk and during his bath tonight I thought that I would make it a full mo-hawk. I know that everyone does this with their kid at one point but Torin's is natural. And he is so dang cute!!I love this last picture-that is so his personality!

Wedding Tag

OK, so Christine tagged me to complete this. Here it goes:

1. WHAT DATE IS YOUR ANNIVERSARY? May 21, 2005

2. WHERE DID YOU GET MARRIED? Dallas, TX

3. WHO PROPOSED AND HOW? Chris proposed on January 1, 2005. We had spent the whole day watching a 'Monk' marathon (which at the time was one of our favorite shows). He was about to take me home and as I got my things to leave he got down on one knee and proposed.

4. HOW LONG WERE YOU ENGAGED? 5 months

5. WHAT WAS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR WEDDING DAY? ( AND IT CAN'T BE YOUR HUSBAND) The cake. The decorations. How happy I felt. The chocolate Angel was a perfect place to have the reception.

6. WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE IF YOU COULD? The reception was cooler (temperature). I was so hot!!

7. WEDDING COLORS? Shades of purple. My favorite color. The flowers were all kinds of colors though.

8. REMEMBER ANYTHING SPECIAL ABOUT YOUR WEDDING CEREMONY? Just knowing that Chris will be by my side all my life. We also had a ring ceremony and were I thanked my new mother in law for raising such great man and Chris thanked my mom for doing such a great job raising me.

9. WERE YOU CLEAN OR MESSY WHEN YOU CUT YOUR CAKE? I was clean but I got Chris's face messy.

10. WHERE DID YOU GO ON YOUR HONEYMOON? We stayed in a cabin in Fedricksburg, TX for three nights. It was relaxing and romantic. We did a lot of "antiquing".

I tag Corrine and Stephanie.

Happy Birthday-part 2

Torin also had a little party at our house. We celebrated with Grandma and Grandpa Lace and mommy and daddy. I worked all day on his cake. It is really hard to try to make a perfect monkey face out of icing when you have a little boy trying to crawl up your legs. I did the best I could and I think that it turned out great! We let Torin pick the first piece of cake.He wasn't really sure what to do with it. He needed a little help from daddy. He really only played with the cake instead of eating it.After a few bites he was done! Too much sugar for an already sweet boy!
Happy Birthday Torin! I love my monkey!!

Happy Birthday-part 1
