Doctor Visit

Torin went to the ophthalmologist today for a check up on his eyes. The cataracts in his eyes have not grown since last time we were there three months ago. We go back to check again in six months.

You know, no news is good news.

Debt Free!

Just want everyone to know that I paid off my student loan this week and am now officially DEBT FREE!!!!!!

Torin's Surgery

Torin had surgery today to fix a condition he was born with called hypospadias (to learn more about it click HERE). We checked in at 9 am and his surgery was supposed to be at 10 am but did not actually start until 11. That might not be a huge deal to you but he had not eaten since dinner the night before and had nothing to drink. Little kid, no food-you can only imagine. But the good news is that he was really well behaved and did not once freak out. To say the least, it was a blessing. He went back to surgery and me and Grandma (Chris's mom) sat in the waiting room. They finished around 1 pm and we spoke to the doctor while Torin was coming out of the anesthesia. We got to see him around 1:45 and left the surgery center around 2:20. We went home and he ate three bites of applesauce and then crashed for several hours. I woke him up to give him some pain medication and fed him dinner and now he is back in bed. It was a long day but it turned out better than I expected.

Goober

Torin is such a goober. He climbs up on my bed and takes my sleeping mask, tries to put it on and then makes this "smiley" face.He is so weird.

Church Calling

I have been in my new ward for about 4 months now and have not received a calling. That's fine with me and all but I have a feeling that I am going to be called to be the Preparedness/food storage person and I have no idea why. No one has said anything to me but I just have a feeling.

Applesauce

What do you do when the farmer's market has a sale on apples for .39/pound? Buy a lot of apples! What do you do when you are tired of eating plain apples? Make applesauce!
I borrowed a grinder from Chris's mom and attempted my first try at applesauce. I think it went pretty well.

First- get apples and wash themSecond-cook them
Third-grind them (I know its a little chunky- I like to think of it as "olde country" style)Fourth-bring to boil and add sugar and cinnamon to tasteFifth- cool applesauceSixth-put on lids and refrigerate or freezeSeventh-enjoy -and does Torin ever!

It was actually really easy and when apples go on sale again, I will repeat the whole process.

Belly Picture

I thought that it was about time to show everyone how big I am getting. This picture was taken today and that puts me at 29 weeks. Don't mind the weird face I am making-don't know what that's about.

Cold Stone

I was craving good ice cream last night so Chris took me to Cold Stone where I ordered the Peanut Butter Perfection. I ate most of it and gave the last two bites to Torin. He REALLY enjoyed it. I told him to smile and this is the face I got.

Lame

It is so lame when you go to meet your playgroup and no one else shows up. Super lame.

Baby Update

I had a doctor's appointment and an ultrasound yesterday. Here are the results:
Baby boy is 2 lbs 14 oz-measuring a week and a half ahead. Everything looks good. Doc thinks that I won't make it to 40 weeks (which is fine with me) but if I do, will want to induce me to try to avoid issues with the two vessel cord. So, perhaps, I might be having this kid at 37 or 38 weeks. Not that far away.

Popcorn

I have been craving caramel popcorn recently so last night I made a batch. I ate about half of it and was satisfied. Until 10 minutes later when the heartburn kicked in. Why would caramel popcorn do such a hateful thing? I just finished the rest of it about 15 minutes ago and am now regretting it because my chest hurts...
