Thanksgiving

There are just so many things in my life that I am thankful for. I have a wonderful husband, a beautiful son, a loving family and some great friends. I am thankful for my faith that helps me tremendously in my life. I am thankful for our jobs and our home.

For Thanksgiving this year, Chris, Torin and I met mom and Craig at Buescher State Park and went camping. Here are some pictures of our adventures.

This is our campsite. Mom and Craig were in the dinky tent. Ours was the bigger one and we could even fit Torin's portable crib in it.
Mom trying really hard to keep Torin warm. It was 40 degrees at night and the mid 50s during the day.

Cooking our Thanksgiving dinner-foil packs over the fire-yum!

It was sooooooo cold at night!

On our hike, Mom and I did a chorus number!

So tired! Couldn't stay awake during the hike!

It was a lot of fun and I am thankful that I got to spend this time with my family. I love everyone!

CVS Tuesday

I went to CVS today and here is my haul. I paid $2.43 for it all. I would have only paid $1.43 but they would not take one of my coupons. Oh well. But they did give me $23 extra care bucks for taking these out of the store. Not as good as Christine but not too shabby if you ask me!

Thankful Turkey 5K

This morning I went on a little run for the Thankful Turkey 5K. It was rainy and cold but it was fun. This is a picture of me and Lindsay. She was worried that she could not keep up with me because she has not run in a long time. Well, it turns out that she could keep up with me speed walking while I was jogging!! She is also like a foot taller than me!
Yeah, I made Chris go on this one with me too. If he is not working, he will be running!! This run I finished 3 minutes faster than the 5K I did last month. Granted there were no hills on this run, but I still went faster!
This is Lindsay and John. They are some of my super close friends! Lindsay made John come running too. John finished before all of us. I guess he didn't want to be part of the group.
I wonder when the next 5K will be.

Sick

Sorry I haven't been updating my blog this week. Chris is sick. Torin is sick. I am sick. Everyone is sick. I am the least sick out of everyone. Poor Torin has a pretty yucky cough. I hope everyone gets better soon.

Crazy Weekend

This was a crazy weekend. Not going to go into detail but here are some pictures of the kids playing. (Christine and Dave were in Austin this weekend.)
Here is Hailey riding Jasmine.
And the boys playing with the exersaucer. Torin and Andrew are so cute when they interact.
Crazy weekend...

Happy Birthday Christine!!!

Joke of the Day

A guy joins a monastery and takes a vow of silence: He's allowed to say two words every seven years. After the first seven years, the elders bring him in and ask for his two words. "Cold floors," he says. Seven more years pass. They bring him in for his two words. "Bad food," he says. Seven more years pass. They bring him in for his two words. "I quit," he says. "That's fine," the elders say. "You have done nothing but complain since you got here."

Ha ha, right?

Lindsay's Birthday

My friend, Lindsay, had a birthday party today. Her birthday was yesterday but she spent that day with her family. So we had a BBQ and just hung out outside.
There were no forks left when it was time to eat the cake-we used our hands! Good cake though. And my face looks funny because it is full of cake!
Torin really liked Lindsay's sunglasses!
Lindsay is almost 6 feet tall and she didn't want to feel like a giant standing next to me. I stood on a bench and we are the same height. Ta-da!
And our happy little family! I do love my boys!!

Here we go...

Christine tagged me to write out a list of six things most people do not know about me. The problem is I think that most of these will be very obvious to people who know me. But, here we go...

1. I am shy. When Christine says she is shy, she holds nothing to me. I am so shy. I get anxiety attacks if Chris makes me order a pizza! The littlest things make me soooooo nervous.

2. I am really selective on the people I call my friends. I have had three really bad experiences with people that I thought were my friends: a crash and burn, if you will. I now am guarded with people until I feel I can truly trust them. Some people I know from the beginning will not work as a friend for me. Not that there is anything wrong with that person, I just know we won't work. I am selective.

3. I binge. I generally eat very well. Once in a while (every couple weeks) I binge on something-usually is some sort of chocolate. Now, I am not talking about eating three servings of cake here...I am talking an entire cake! Days later it seems funny that I did this to myself. I go to the point where I make myself sick. Whenever we have a chocolate desert; be it cake, candy, cookies; Chris HAS to monitor me. He will take said treats to work so I won't binge while he is gone. Right now there are Twix and Reese's hidden somewhere in the house so I can't find and eat them. But I just looove chocolate!!!

4. I want to be like my Grandma Rougeau. I want to sew like her, cook like her, and garden like her. If you have seen her garden in the backyard, you know what I mean. She is just amazing! I do feel that when it comes to certain things-I am no no-sense like her. Just like her: you do NOT want to be on my sh*t-list! I love my grandma!!

5. I have never doubted that I would be a good mom. I know that Torin is really young still, but even before he was born, I was never worried. I have always felt comfortable with children. I knew that this was one of the callings in my life and I have never doubted myself. (Now come back and see how I feel when Torin is a teenager!)

6. I talk to Christine on the phone basically every day. Sometimes several times a day. She is my best friend and the person I usually go to for advice. We have been best friends, really best friends, since I was in 9th grade. We did everything together. I knew she would marry Dave before she did! She also does all the research and then tells me what to buy with coupons. I got free pretzels thanks to her. I love that she lives in Texas again and that Chris and I will be moving back to Dallas in the next three-ish months. We will get to hang out on a weekly basis. I am excited that our kids will get to know each other. It would kill me for them to move out of the state again.

There are some things that, hopefully, you did not already know. I hope it was entertaining for you. Since I don't know that many people that Christine has not already tagged:
I tag YOUR MOM!!
