First Snow

These pictures were taken on October 7, the first snow storm. It didn't stick in the Valley so JJ and I took the kids up Big Cottonwood Canyon to walk around Silver Lake. The kids really enjoyed playing in the snow. Thankfully Gavin didn't hate it like he did last year.

It was a little cold for Paisley so we got back in the car.

First Day of Preschool

Torin had his first day of preschool on September 7. He was so excited to go. The day before he went with JJ to go get a backpack and he picked it out himself. Here is a picture of him right before we left the house.

And showing off his new backpack. Can you guess who it is?Gavin showing off his "backpack" too. He was jealous about the backpack so later that week we got Gavin his very own.
It's bright outside! In the parking lot. The foot you see in the picture is of my friend Dawn. Her son, Evan, goes to the same preschool as Torin (but they are not in the same class). We carpool every now and then and when the boys see each other they run at each other, yelling the other's name and then hug. It's really cute.
Torin wouldn't even stay next to me. He was running ahead, he was just so excited!

Turning in his "homework"- the all about me sheet. It included information such as favorite color (orange), favorite food (strawberries) and favorite toy (shapes-I'm not sure what he meant about this one).
Now when we go to school, he signs in on his own, gets his own name tag and hags his backpack on his own. Doesn't need me anymore. What a big boy!

Potty Break

Torin has started preschool and his whole schedule has changed. Generally he has adjusted well...except he is having some accidents. Since he started school last Wednesday he has had 4 accidents. And last night it was on me. He had been asleep for an hour then just started crying. He wouldn't tell me what was wrong so I just held him, hoping he could voice what was bothering him. He keep getting more upset so I called for JJ to help me and started up the stairs while carrying Torin. That's when I felt my stomach get warm.
All I can say is that he REALLY had to pee. Look at how wet I am and the stairs! Anyways, I'm hoping things get better for him and remembers to use the bathroom and not me.

Me Want Cookie!

Last week I thought it would be fun if me and the boys made some cookies. Gavin helped add the ingredients and Torin helped mixed. Then they both got a chance to shape their own cookies. Rolling the dough into balls.

Torin did a great job making them actually look like cookies. He rolled them into balls and patted them into cookies all on his own.
Gavin just scooped the cookies dough on the cookies sheet and called it good.
They did a great job. We enjoyed eating cookies that were fresh out of the oven.
