Freeze Warning

There is a freeze warning in effect for the north Texas area tonight. It is possible that there will be ice covering almost everything in the morning. What does that mean for Texans? Everything stops or closes. Nobody leaves their homes. People don't go to work. Children stay home from school. For some reason, ice terrifies Texans. I never got that-it could be that my family lived in Canada for five years or that I am sane-still, not sure.
To the point-what does someone do to prepare for a freeze? Why, grill your dinner outside! Chris got a brand new grill for his birthday from the greatest wife in the world and decided to Christen it tonight.
Here is Torin trying to keep himself occupied while dinner was being cooked.
Food's done. Look at that piece of meat--and the freshly cooked steak.
This was my plate. Generally, I like my steak cooked medium and Chris likes his rare. We tried to compromise, my pieces were from the end and his was from the middle.
This is Chris's plate. I think I just heard it moo.
The food was good and now I feel like vegging out. Thanks for cooking Chris!

P.S. Please don't judge my hideous kitchen. We will redecorate it eventually. We just need the moo-la.

Kids

Here is a picture of my little man. This was at 24 weeks. I get an ultrasound every 4 weeks due to him having a two vessel cord (instead of three vessels). They monitor him to make sure that his growth is on schedule and so far so good. I have another ultrasound on Feb 4.
Here are some pictures of Chris and Torin from today. They were playing with the legos that Chris had when he was little. Chris made Torin a pretty cool hat.
Just like Chris to ruin a good picture.

This is a picture of Torin from last week when Chris styled his hair. I thought Torin looked so cute!
Nothing else going on.

Christmas 2008

For some reason it seems that the only important part about Christmas anymore is whatever Torin is doing and needless to say, those are the only pictures we took this year. Anywho, here are our Christmas pictures.

When Grandma, Grandpa, Great Grandma and Aunt Brittany came over that evening, Torin was in for quite a haul. Brittany and Korey (her fiance) got Torin a mat with letters on it. It was a nice present for him-a mean present for me. All the letters come out, plus the middle of the letters (like o,p,d,e, etc) and the borders come off. Lots of pieces for me to keep track of and of course Torin really likes to take it all apart!

I think this was from Great Grandma...

Torin really does like to sit in chairs. That big, long stuffed animal is from Gma and Gpa. It's a catti-speller.

And he got a million more books. Torin LOVES his books.
Sorry about the sideways pictures. I have no idea why they are loading that way. They are right side up in my picture folder. Frustrating....
Anywho-this is the one gift that Torin got from his parents.

Oh yeah, a Tonka truck.
And he is already chasing Jasmine with it. What a boy.

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year!
My New Year's resolution is...

to have a baby!

Ha ha ha. I think I can stick to that.

Copy cat

I was just thinking back to the 4 weeks I felt nauseated and the 10 weeks where I was throwing up during this pregnancy (that would be 14 weeks of sickness-just in case you math has gotten rusty). I was trying to remember if I was sick for this long when I was pregnant with Torin. I came to the conclusion that, no, I was not but at the same time I really don't remember.
Anywho-the point of this ramble is that Torin would follow me to the bathroom when I got sick and would watch. Nothing I could really do about that though, I was puking. So as I was brushing my teeth one day, Torin lifts the lid to the toilet seat and starts spitting in the toilet. At first I could not figure out what he was doing then I dawned on me that he was mimicking my behavior. THE POINT- It's funny how observant little kids are in a sad kind of way.
